Dyngus Day is a weird, quirky Buffalo/Polish celebration that involves pussy willows, squirt guns and kielbasa … and we decided to tell its story through the people who have somehow kept this 1000 yr old tradition alive in the unlikely Broadway & Filmore district of Buffalo, NY.

Our team

Jason Jurewicz
Director / Producer
Jason wanted to be a drummer, but he wasn’t very good. Fast forward 25 yrs, and now he’s making a documentary on Dyngus Day. A polish fella who lived in an area of Buffalo called Kaisertown for over a decade, he’s an actor who hosted a webseries for Lowe’s Home Improvement and been in numerous commercials, and has worked on the feature films Marshall, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II, A Quiet Place, and The First Purge. Jason owns a video production company in Buffalo called Brand Landers.

Chris Scherr
Producer
Chris is a nice guy. Recently unencumbered by the time constraints of gainful employment, Chris is now working full-time on the documentary. He’s acted in movies and commercials and was trained in Improv at Second City. A big sports fan (Go Bills!), Chris has been a part of ad campaigns for New Era and participated WGR Sports Radio 550’s Roast of Buffalo Bills legends Andre Reed and Steve Tasker. He founded Buffalo Sketch Comedy and worked with Jason’s sketch groups “Jason Bojangals” and “Welcome to Lovejoy.” Welcome aboard Christopher!
